The location was very relaxing. The room was exceptional. Even having a pool with a spa was great. The staff were excellent and helpful. Meals were very good. Overall I cannot list one thing but a combination of all these things. I attended a wedding on the Sunday at the actual Castle which was very romantic.
No comment here as I found things exceptionally good.
The staff were lovely. The castle is stunning however slightly mislead into thinking I would stay in the castle but the rooms are in the main hotel - new build, but still very nice. Food was fantastic and very good value for money.
Our room was dated and flat screen tv did not work. Reception advised they would send someone to fix it but didn't. However very minor issues and did not impact on our stay.
Bar staff were extremely friendly and helpful, especially with the children. Spa facilities were lovely too.
No provision for children eg kids club like Crieff Hydro. Beauty treatments not available unless booked before stay.
The main reception dining gym area's were in ecellent condition. Staff were very freindly, chatty and profesional. Dining at night was abs supurb. Overall would def reccom it.
room was slightly tatty in a few places shower leaked. Buffy breakfast's are always slightly cold no matter how well prepared
Pool and jacussi. Bar and restaurant staff excellent - very helpful.
Family room booked - but no beds in room for the children when we arrived.
I enjoyed the stay at Airth Castle, very well situated for a number of te main cities in Central Scotland. Good menu, very well laid out dining room, and bar area. The spa option was very tempting, at sensible prices, but we did not find the time to fit it in with our intinery. Maybe next time.
We were given a room in the castle as opposed to the hotel, which meant walking up to the hotel for all meals. Ok most of the time but when it was raining, it meant taking the car the few hunderd yards. I woud have liked the option of having a room in the castle or the hotel. The castle room had all been modernised which took away from some the features that that room should have had. The bathroom was large, but although there was a heated towel rail in there, it was not on during our stay as it was supplied from the central heating. No mirror at the sink meant walking 2 metres to a wall mounted mirror when shaving. For me the room let it down compared to how it was described on the hotel website. The room was comfortable dont get me wrong, and also very peacefull. Having said all that, I will be back, but will insist on a room within the hotel next time.
We enjoyed time to chill out without the kids. It was very romantic and the food was fabulous.
The food was excellent and the service was very good.
I felt misled as I expected to be staying in the hotel, rather than a modern complex near the castle. The view from our room was of dead weeds, which was frankly quite depressing and not what I expect from a 4-star hotel.
We had booked in for one night only Didnt arrive until very late at night, staff were very pleasant and welcoming.Deductions were made because we were unable to make dinner reservation, this was very much appreciated and also part of the reason we booked up straight away for february 2011.We enjoyed the short time in the hotel wished we could,ve stayed longer. We had stayed in Raddison Blue in Dublin in september and the difference in the staff and courtesy was chalk and cheese.
only that we had such a short time there
the staff were particularly helpful during my stay however the food was by far the highlight my compliments to all involved it was the perfect choice of location for the wedding
Reasonably spacious room, decent bathroom, adequate storage space in room, good value cooked breakfast.
The hotel was lovely with very pleasant staff. The meal was also very nice.
Not anything I disliked, however a cocktail menu at the bar would be beneficial.
Beautiful setting, excellent value fo rmoney, very attentive staff
This hotel provides a luxurious country retreat. The rooms are not located in the castle but in the annex next to it, however, this assures that all modern amenities can be provided. The hotel is situated on parkland grounds (overlooking Falkirk and Grangemouth in the distance) and was blissfully quiet. Our room was very spacious, tastefully decorated (fitting for a castle) and with a most comfortable king size double bed; bathroom aslo spacious and very clean. One of the best features are the swimming pool (open until 10 pm) and fitness centre - both free for guests. Breakfast (incl cooked breakfast) was available from a buffet and was very good. Internet is free of charge and should theoretically be available in all rooms.
Only a very minor thing: the internet did not work in our room but worked fine on the corridor outside the room and in the public areas.
We loved the lengths the staff went through to assist us - whether to book us into the actual castle or make reservations for both the spa and local restaurants - very nice. We also loved the setting the woods, running in the area, and proximity to some great sightseeing!
Some of the facilities appeared slightly run down - in our first room the door on the desk was broken, and the wallpaper in the castle stairwell had been ripped. A fresh coat of wallpaper and / or paint, and some minor updates and maintenance would add to what was a wonderful experience.
